THE CAVE OF CAN MARÇÀ

Ibiza-Secrets invite you to discover the Cave of can marçà with more than 100,000 years old and formed by geological faults.  It has been through glaciations and tropical heat and at present it is almost fossilised except for in the deepest galleries where the dripping water is still forming stalactites.

The geological forms are obvious in the richness of the underground water courses and fossilised waterfalls.

The promotion "Un día de espeleólogos" (Potholing day) offers a guided tour of the cave of Can Marçà, in the Port of San Miguel.  All visitors will be able to enjoy a 40 minute tour in natural scenery with natural water effects, light and sound, and what’s more will be able to observe, learn and discover how the stalactites and stalagmites have been formed little by little with the passage of time.

Due to its beauty and exclusivity, it is a highly appropriate excursion for all people interested in the “underground world” and is of great cultural interest.  Without a doubt it will be an unforgettable experience.

Not to be forgotten or overlooked are the landscape elements to be found in the surroundings of the cave:  The watchtower of es Molar, the beaches of Puerto de San Miguel and Benirràs nearby, ramblers’ routes, etc.
