POTA LAIT
One of the best know groups of the islands, with two records of “Rock payés” out on the market (‘payés’ is the word used by the Ibizans to describe the typical peasant way of life). The CDs are titled Pota lait (‘Pota’ is the local name for home-grown tobacco and ‘lait’ is pronounced as ‘light’, I’m sure you’ll get the play on words) and Aferra-t’hi fort (hold on tight), they’ve achieved a solid fan base who religiously follow their live performances. The members of the band are: Alfredo Marí, vocals and guitar; Pol Alcaide, guitar; Pere Cardona, drums; Miguel Arredondo, lead guitar; Juanan Cardona, bass.
Winners of the ‘best live set’ prize in the I PREMIOS SARGANTANA DE LA MÚSICA. They’ve made one video: Es Vedrà.
They’ve participated in numerous concerts around the islands and a few in Catalonia. The first volume of SARGANTANA ROCK (CDs of local bands) also featured one of their songs: es muvilet em fa filet.
