JESÚS…!!! WHAT A FIESTA..!!!!
Shorten that long face that says summer’s nearly over… there’s a little bit of every known cure in the village of Jesus to get over that insomnia and those autumnal blues…
We bring you the full programme of the ‘fiestas’ of Jesús, which, it seems, has been designed to take full advantage of every corner of the big square in the village, one of the most densely inhabited villages on the island.
Rock, habaneras, salsa, rumba, hip hop, the brass band that can’t ever miss a fiesta and even with chorus with soprano soloist included…, circus, juggling, trapeze artists, cabaret, folk dancing singing and typical Ibizan music, sacred mass for the faithful, organised games for the youth, procession of horse-drawn carts with the villagers following behind, children’s workshops, clowns, fancy dress costumes, expositions, handicrafts, competitions and card games, the Flower Power party, sports events, races, skittles, a good ‘arroz de matanzas’ (typical rice dish prepared on the day of the slaughter of the hog) and last but by no means least, the technicolour firework display…
It’s worth holding on to summer for…
