The Cor Ciutat d’Eivissa came into being in January 1994 within the Escola del Patronat Municipal de Música d’Eivissa (Ibiza Municipal school on music).  It is an amateur four voice choir, with 60 singers. Its repertoire brings together nearly all styles and eras, and their concerts in Ibiza city for Easter, patron Saints’ festivals, Saint Cecilia and new year are already traditional.  It has received courses in choral improvement from conductors such as Joan Company, Joan Casas and Ma. Carme Valls, and courses in vocal improvement from teachers such as Ana Luisa Chova, Pilar Riera or Angela Lenton.

In 1997 it was selected to take part in the Cantingròs International Music Competition, and thus had occasion to perform for the first time outside the island of Ibiza.  Since then it has performed various concerts in different parts of the Spanish geography, like Lleida (1999), Avila and Segovia (2000), Barcelona, Blanes and Camprodon (2001), Majorca (2002), Vinarós (2003), Tolosa (2004), Sevilla (2005), Calvià (2006) or Cuenca (2007).  Its conductors have been Nekane Piñuela (1994-1996) and Miguel San Miguel (since 1996).
