They have become hugely popular thanks to the cheerful nature of their songs and the stage presence common amongst groups from the Andes mountain range. Their set includes original compositions such as ‘Viento de los Andes’ or cover versions such as ‘Wayayay’ (typical Bolivian), ‘El Condor Pasa’, made famous by Simon and Garfunkel or ‘El Humahuaqueño’ (the little carnival). Their style is typical of Latin American folklore, with styles called ‘sanjuanito’, ‘huaynos’, ‘cumbia’, ‘pasillos’…
The band leader, Darwin Chuquirima has also played with various other well known Ibizan groups of differing styles. For him, the present musical situation in Ibiza is good because “you hear all sorts. There’s a lot of variety”.
