“EXCELLENCE” OF THE IBIZA MUSIC CLÚSTER PROJECT
The Ibiza Music Clúster promoted by the Council of Ibiza receives recognition as excellent on the part of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and commerce.From the SEGITTUR, the state society for the development of innovation and tourist technology it has been highlighted that the approval of these Strategic Plans will serve to improve the level of innovation and competition of the PIMES, the small and medium sized businesses of the tourist sector as a whole. On the other hand, all the strategy programmes that have been presented have the fundamental objective of improving the competitiveness of the different products and tourist destinations through the use of innovation.
The AEI, group of innovative businesses, represent the present instrument of the Secretary of State for Tourism in order to favour business growth and innovation within the tourist sector according to the new model of growth which is being supported by the Govern Balear and which is based on technology, innovation and knowledge as key competitive elements.
Within this model, SEGITTUR would like to see tourism identified as a strategic sector. The programme of the AEI falls within the framework of the National Plan of Scientific Investigation, Development and Innovation which, for the the first time, and since last year, incorporates the tourism sector as a specific scope for action.
Sargantana Rock, the association of musicians from the Pitiusas Islands, has requested to be borne in mind in the musical project and has offered its collaboration.
The AEI are made up of tourist businesses, technological companies, universities and technological centres and managers with the will to collaborate in joint projects of an innovative character. They come together below one umbrella of tourist PIMES of differing scopes and generators of knowledge normally led by a commercial association or group of companies.
