El ángel yuxtapuesto, Julio Herranz. Plaza y Janés, 2005.
Winning book of the ‘premio Ciudad de Torrevieja 2004’.
El ángel yuxtapuesto is an overwhelming and intense collection of poems, written in a personal poetic language developed ocer a long trajectory. The figure of the angel is a permanent obsession in Julio Herranz’s work and in this book it appears as an allegory of love, of lovers, of the sensations one lives in every erotic encounterThe collection is structured in three parts of differentiated tone and language.
The first part, Cercanías del ángel, is a recompilation of well digested vital experiences which brings us closer to the vital, moral and poetic references of the author. In the second part, El ángel remitente, the language becomes more subjective and tells us of a love story and the circumstances that bring this story to its end. The final part titled El ángel devastado are the reflections, in a grave and transcendental language, on the trajectory of a love life, the memories of many loves, skins, bodies. And, as in any revision of a life, a reflection on death.
